Top US Medical Schools

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) represents all 126 accredited United States medical schools, as well as 17 accredited Canadian medical schools.  They are arranged by state, and you can get information about each when you visit their website.  It is important that you enroll in an accredited medical school.  In his article, I will explain the differences between  nonaccredited and accredited medical schools.

It's not hard to get away with -- set up a medical school, and for a fee of a 10th of the price of a normal medical school, as well as a curriculum that anybody can pass, it won't be hard to attract people who want to cheat that becoming a licensed medical practitioner.

In fact, many people will go to these unaccredited medical schools simply just to add a degree to their resume.  If all you want is to put some more initials on your resume, then that is fine.  However, if you wish to practice medicine in the United States and Canada, you need to attend an accredited medical school.

Let me show you the ridiculousness of unaccredited medical schools.  There is a college in Oregon called Belford, which claims that you can earn your degree in seven days, by passing a simple online equivalency test.  Imagine that -- 1 week is all it takes to become a doctor.  Also, they make a claim to be an accredited source.  But don't be fooled -- they are accredited by Universal Council for Online Education Accreditation. Unfortunately, this is not recognized in the United States as a valid accreditation agency.

Again, it is very simple to evaluate the medical school, as far as his accreditation is concerned.  Simply go to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) website, and you'll get a list of all the accredited medical schools in the United States and Canada.

In conclusion, if you run across a medical school that seems too good to be true -- it probably is.  Check to see if it is accredited first, otherwise your degree will not be worth the paper it is printed on.
